, 608-267-2026 www.arts.state.wi.us Description | Schedule DescriptionFirst Day 9:00am - Noon Grant Proposal Writing workshop featuring a mock panel After a briefing on effective grant proposal writing practices, you have the chance to act as panelists on a mock arts grant review panel. In small groups, you will review sample applications to the Arts Board and then move to the head of the room to join a mock panel, and to give your take on the strengths and weaknesses of the application(s) you reviewed... putting into practice what you've just learned. 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm Succession Planning workshop As leaders at the board level and the staff level change, organizations go through an important transition. There are simple actions that organizations can take to make that transition as smooth and helpful to the organization - and the community that it serves - as possible. To that end, the Arts Board offers this workshop. Presented by the Illinois Arts Alliance, leaders in the field of succession planning and authors of the book Succession: Arts Leadership for the 21st Century, this workshop offers a painless way to focus on the issues surrounding succession before they focus on you. Second Day 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Are We There Yet? A Workshop on Program Evaluation The opportunity to learn about the impact of what you do and how well you're doing it is available to you every day. This highly interactive workshop will help you identify the many ways that you already evaluate what you're doing, learn other ways to evaluate that make sense for your organization, and understand more deeply how your community benefits from your work. Two great guest presenters from the Arts Extension Service out of Massachusetts lead this workshop, with voices from arts organizations in the region adding their best practices into the mix. The two tracks of the workshop - Fundamentals and Advanced - guarantee that you will leave with tools and information that you can put to use immediately.
